How to choose the right yoga cushion for me?

To find out which zafu / meditation cushion is best for you, you need to consider its shape and its height

1. The height of the cushion is appropriate when your hips, iliac bone crests, are above your knees.

2. To find your height you can use pillows or yoga blocks or other objects, put them on top of each other and sit until your iliac crests are above your knees.

Measure with a tape or ruler the centimetres of the objects you used to sit on. This measurement is the height of the cushion you need.

If you have a space between your knee and the floor when sitting for meditation, we recommend using knee or ankle cushions (depending on the space) to avoid tension or pain in the area.

If you have discomfort in your ankles when sitting in an easy posture or want more stability when meditating, you can use the ankle cushions.

If I have flexibility, do I need a cushion to sit on when meditating?

Yes, we recommend using a cushion when meditating. It will give you support to avoid tension in the hips, keep the spine upright and maintain circulation. The advantage of the Karacol Magico cushions is that you can remove 1 of the 2 inner cushions to adjust it to the height you need.
